Is there a new model Falcon out?

I am in business and often like to see how different companies market there new products.
Have been past a Ford dealer this week and you wouldnt know there is a new Falcon out, havent seen any ads in the paper or on the TV.

With so much pressure on the large car market I would have thought a marketing plan would be in full swing to help sell the cars right from day one in order to see Ford still produce cars in Australia in the future or perhaps the writing is already on the wall.

They have a great product and need to sell to a lot more buyers other than the faithful Ford buyers.
Perhaps the dealer I saw is an isolated case and I really want to see Ford carry on building cars in our part of the world but there doesnt seem to be much jumping up and down regarding the new model.

I reckon with petrol prices the way they are it would be a good idea to attract as many buyers as they can now as the fuel price is spiralling out of control.

Well that just my thoughts anyway.

In saying that though, I do have one particular salesman from out of my home town trying to sell me a car and he is working hard and he will get my sale but have to drive the F6 and GT first but as I am faithful to Ford thats cool but there are sure to be a few converts out there as so far the FG looks to be a very good car indeed.

Yeah mate, I took a drive past M.S Ford and all I seen were Mondeo's, I have heard the odd advert on the radio telling people there is a new Falcon out there and I have been to a few dealers now and seen what they have but I haven't seen any TV adverts yet.

It may be a case of insufficient stock and the fact that not all models are available yet. Local dealer had an allocation of three cars this month. 2 sold and 1 demo next months allocation is the same and already sold 2 of the 3.

Supply and demand then aye?.

Yeah fair point there but I remember back to the BA launch and it took a while for the Turbos and 8s to get here but they advertised the other models anyway and sold well and from a maketing point of view it would be better for them to have a good back order list to work through as the FG is such a great car.

I remember the song and dance over the VE and I nearly bought one, and I hope Ford make a big deal out of this car because it looks to be very very good.

Just letting the "General" public know that a nea Ford is coming would be a great start as converting people to Ford is the key to this car selling well.

At the car dealers we all go to is there advertising all around the sales yards to attract customers.Im sure I didn't see any either.If I was a potential buyer of the new FG or any other ford for that matter and I was driving by looking in what could possibly attract me more to go in would be a big sign saying ''New Falcon In Stock Now'' or something to that effect.

I also heard something from a bank teller the other day..we were chatting about petrol prices and big cars.And I said a few things to her and she mentioned something about keeping your big cars..'don't downgrade just because petrol prices were going up'..has anyone seen this article in the paper as I would like to read it.Not sure what paper.

It's all a HUGE secret, all hush, hush like, you are not supposed to talk about it in public, only behind bike sheds, or in the dark between friends...

The first owner of my car (BA XR6T) told me that after he ordered it, it took 6 weeks to arrive at the dealers, that was in March 2003, so things haven't changed much it seems.

I know alot of people cancelled orders on the BA because they advertised and couldn't supply. They went ot Holden who could. I think all of the FG's in NZ have pretty much been sold to those who are in the know and want Ford product. They will mostlikey advertise when supply is good and catch all those fence jumpers then with hopfully what appears to be better quicker service.

I know I lucked onto my Turbo straight away because the guy who ordered it said Farkit I aint gonna wait so it got here and long story short I had no wait.

Yeah I had a similar story when I bought a BA Turbo Ute, I placed the order for one and was told I would have to wait 2 months which I thought was standard cos or car at the time took that long too, and then 2 days I got a phone call from the dealer and he said there is a Turbo Ute waiting in Wellington with all the specs I ordered and its suppose to go to Auckland but if I want it I could bee driving it away in less than 2 weeks...........And the rest is history.

I waited 8 months for my FPV but thats because its a bit less common here .... frustrating but definately worth the wait now.
I went to a dealer launch of the FG but must say i did not see anything that would make me want to "upgrade" ....... maybe when the new FPV range come out ...... or not!

Heard Greyfords advert on the radio today for the FG Falcon but it was just the Owner talking about how good the new Falcon is.

Starling, the new FPV GTP was at Courtesy Ford's FG Launch last week. I reckon once you see it you might want to upgrade. Looks nice with the new FPV Badges and the vents in the read bumber. The "Racoon" eyes at the front look better in the flesh than they did in the early pics.

ford have been losing sales on falcon for months ( you can'y buy
one) and thats still not changing yet. i know of at least 4
people personally that would of purchased falcons if they were
availiable, but they have changed brands and this has also meant they
have looked at updating other vehicles with "other" brands. what are
ford up 2? they look to me like they aren't really bothered
pushing the falcon

Maybe Ford think that people will just buy it cos its a Ford?

What's the old saying....."Build it and they will come" or something like that.

I was looking in the Press at the Ford dealers in Chch and I thought "Man they still want a lot of money for their second hand Falcon's" and You would expect the price to start dropping especially since You can buy a brand new FG XR8 with its 290kw engine for $52k and the Holden equivalent is $64k So who the hell would pay $35k for a 3 or 4yr old XR8? with the cost of living and the price of fuel and then I thought, maybe the dealers are just trying it on.......Why drop the price if We don't have too, If You know what I mean?.

just talking to someone yesterday and he was saying that ford are
releasing the fg properly in july because of the diesel mondeo and
focus etc, and they didn't want too many cars released at once!
sounds a bit stupid to me , but this guy works for a dealership
and was straight up about it! almost like i might buy a new car,
oh na got to wash my hair this month

If they can't be bothered to celebrate Fords 1-2-3, Bathurst win to promote the Falcon, announcing a new Falcon is not going to be a priority either.
Me thinks it about time there was a shift in the management

just seen the BIGGEST FG ad ever. its a coke compitition
promotion!!!!!!! bit of a laugh really. i think all the
holden dealers must be hoping ford release more falcon models cause
then they get a few months when no one can buy falcons! just had
another mate show off his new ss this week (he had been stalling his
work for a new car, he wanted a falcon),but ford could not supply, so
another company switched!

Why the hell are they (Ford) so slow?.

I thought they were on sale from the 1st of June.
