Re: FOGGY is BACK!
Top BNT V8s competitor Angus Fogg was successful in his appeal of an official decision that excluded him from the results of race three at the BNT V8s Championship opening round in Taupo early in October.
With Fogg now officially declared the winner of Taupo’s third race, this weekend’s second round of the BNT V8s Championship has a reshuffled leader-board before the racing even starts.
Paul Radisich, who’s not racing this weekend due to injuries sustained at Bathurst, technically leads with 181 points and Kayne Scott is second with 178 points. Andy Booth is third with 162 points, John McIntyre fourth with 161 points and Fogg moves into fifth place with 122 points.
The earlier official decision which saw Fogg excluded from results involved the technical eligibility of two of Fogg’s racing wheels. When relooking at the matter, officials concluded the regulations did not adequately detail specifications of the controlled ROH alloy wheels and therefore the reason for Fogg’s exclusion could not be upheld.
The BNT V8s’ undertake their three-part qualifying programme from 12:20pm on Saturday 8 November. All competitors run in an initial 20-minute qualifying session, then the fastest 20 run for a 15-minute session, and the top ten effectively run a top ten shoot-out for another 15 minutes. Race one – 12 laps – is scheduled for 3:55pm on Saturday with a 16-lap race at 11:05am on Sunday 9 November and a 20-lap reverse grid race at 3:10pm on Sunday afternoon, all with rolling starts.

Re: FOGGY is BACK!
Aucklander Andy Booth dominated the fifth round of the New Zealand V8 motor racing championship series in Invercargill.
The Holden driver earned a race win, a second and a ninth to score more points than anyone else and take the round win at Teretonga, although Hamilton's Kayne Scott still holds the overall championship lead with two rounds remaining.
"It's been a long time since we've had a round win," two-time series champion Booth said.
"We came here hoping to be fast and the car's been fantastic.
"It's especially good to see us in third and Baird (Craig Baird) in fourth closing the gap to Kayne Scott and Johnny Mac (John McIntyre) at the top of the points table."
Scott leads the series with 829 points, 32 ahead of McIntyre, with Booth in third on 709, followed by Baird on 693.
Weather, mechanical failures and technical regulations created issues for the entire V8s field.
The rain-delayed first race yesterday was actually won by Nelson's McIntyre, who was then excluded from the results due to a technical infringement regarding the width of his wheel track.
Second-placed Booth benefited from McIntyre's disappointment to take the maximum 75 points for a race win.
The mandrel -- a pulley on the front of the engine -- on Kayne Scott's Ford broke, meaning first the power steering and then the water pump failed in the first race.
Despite the increasing engine temperature, Scott managed to keep the car running long enough to cross the line and score points for 13th place.
The second race was won by Gold Coast-based expatatriate New Zealander Craig Baird in a convincing manner, just minutes after he won a Porsche GT3 race.
"With just six more races in the championship, things are certainly getting closer on the leaderboard," said Baird, who was in the unique situation of starting a race with only nine competitors actually on the grid after the other 13 competitors were caught in pit lane after a late change to wet tyres as rain started to fall during the warm-up laps.
The reverse grid race was won by Auckland's Angus Fogg, the victory providing the Ford driver with some consolation after he suffered an alternator failure in the first race and failed to finish.

Re: FOGGY is BACK!
Hamilton driver Kayne Scott clings to a slim 32-point lead over Nelson's defending champion John McIntyre as the New Zealand V8 championship converges on Manfeild for the penultimate round this weekend.
Scott has six races - three at the Fujitsu 200 meeting this weekend and three at the Pukekohe finale just a fortnight later - to secure the national crown for a second time.
However, McIntyre believed his familiarity with the Feilding circuit could help him make headway in the battle of the Ford drivers.
"We're the only team with Manfeild as our nominated test circuit," said two-time champion McIntyre.
"It's great to get mileage at Manfeild so close to the round as we know that qualifying will be the key to the weekend and ultimately the championship. It's a simple plan for the rest of the season - finish in front of Kayne for the next six races."
McIntyre took a short break in his race preparation to marry long-time partner Lisa over the weekend.
While Scott and McIntyre have the jump on the rest of the field with 829 and 797 points respectively, third-placed Holden driver Andy Booth and the fast-improving fourth-placed Craig Baird are both poised to take advantage of any errors from the leading duo.
Booth is 123 points behind McIntyre, a gap that is not insurmountable when each race win is worth 75 points.
Gold Coast-based expat Craig Baird is racing in his first full V8 season, sitting in the Ford of his brother-in-law and three-time V8 champion Mark Pedersen.
Leading standings after five rounds:
Kayne Scott (Hamilton, Ford Falcon) 829pts 1, John McIntyre (Nelson, Ford Falcon) 797 2, Andy Booth (Auckland, Holden Commodore) 706 3, Craig Baird (Gold Coast, Ford Falcon) 691 4, Paul Manuell (Auckland, Holden Commodore) 581 5

Re: FOGGY is BACK!
He's not too far behind is he, and unlike the V8 Supercars, these NZ V8 cars are closer to what we drive on the roads, so imagine the bragging rights we'll have against the Holden boys??
We have employed a couple on the new farm that we're moving to and they are Holden fans so cant wait till Bathurst day in the cow shed.
