Yes I would agree with you friend/machanic that over time ALL springs (Leaf or coil) will sag. But, it's all down to the quality of materials used that will determin how much and how long.
Out of all the available brands (Dobi, Cobra, Pedders, King, Whiteline) Kings springs would be of the highest level, so if your concerns are swaying you to pick one brand or another King is still the best choice.
