    91 0ctane in the F6 Empty 91 0ctane in the F6

I forgot to fill the Ute up last week so I pulled into the local garage and they didn't have anything except 91 so I filled the Ute up with that, now I never noticed any difference in power loss and I got better mileage out of it too.

I drove to my girlfriend place and then we went to Nelson and back and I set the odometer when I filled up and I got 703km to the tank, it averaged 10.5L to 100k's. On 95 or 98 I average about 11.5 to 12L on the same trip.

Most people have said if you use 91 it uses more petrol, I wont be using 91 all the time but it was an interesting thing to do when you need petrol and there's nothing else but 91.

So the SP only runs on 95/98 - its really because you need all the power you can get

Dont we all Zam ... dont we all!

The amount of head gasket failures that i get that can be directly traced back to detonation or preignition due to lack of octane is quite staggering .....

I must admit that when I put 98 in the Ute I did notice it was a lot quicker all round.
