    Odometer Empty Odometer

Post by SWFC Wed Oct 21, 2009 6:15 pm

I have a '93 ED Falcon Futura and the other day the odometer stopped working (revs and speedo still work). Does anyone know whether this is electronically or cable driven? Also, how much of a pain will it be to fix.

    Cheers in advance... Bruce.

Ok... I've managed to sort this one out myself for $20. If anyone ever has this problem, let me know and I'll point them in the right direction...

Perhaps if you told us how you fixed it we could do the reverse and then our cars won't increase in K's either... Odometer 107667

Yeah, I had thought about leaving it for a while to gain some k's. It wasn't much of a drama to fix... it was just a small plastic gear inside the cluster that had a broken tooth. If you take that gear out, the odometer stops working. Probably a different story with the newer digital one's...

I used to have a Viva..... WAY BACK.... a very very long time ago, but anyhow, I thought I would take the speedo apart and give it a bit of a refurb. Dunno what I did wrong but when I put it back together again the speedo worked but the odometer had stoped working. I saw absolutely no point in fixing it either. Odometer Icon_cheers
