    xr6 remote Empty xr6 remote

Post by Klaus Sat Mar 20, 2010 8:05 am

I am assuming the remote for the xr6 has a battery in it and said battery can go flat. I have just such a remote. My questions are these.
    1. How do I get into the remote to change the battery
    2. What type of battery is it
    3. Will me changing the battery stuff up the computers programming.
    4. What do I do to reset the security of the car once I have replaced the battery asuming of course that I can replace the battery.

In answer to the last reply regarding the radio of the xr6 having a security code, I have been informed by the previous owner of the car that the Ford radio was replaced with another unit previous to me purchasing the vehicle.

    1. How do I get into the remote to change the battery Ford say to use a coin, at the bottom there is a space to fit the coin between the front and the back and twist the coin (the two part will come apart quite easy)
    2. What type of
    battery is it CR2032 3V

    3. Will me changing the battery stuff up the computers
programming. It has nothing to do with the car operation just the lock and unlock

    4. What do I do to reset the security of the car once I
have replaced the battery asuming of course that I can replace the
battery. It should be ok as they are the same as any car

There have been other post wear people say that they changed the ICC without reprogramming but I have tried but could not change over without needing to reprogram the ICC (also if you have disconnected the battery at any time and it was not set wright you would have had to get it done).

thank you that. I have since my first posting I have sorted out the remote battery problem. It was an A23 battery got from New World. The radio did work after I sent some time learning what buttons to press and sorting out an aerial problem.

    Thanks
