Re: V8 Supercar news
I don't think so. can you really imagine the Ford motor company supporting the teams they do with the large amount of money they are putting in to have chev engine's in their cars. and it would not happen the other way round either.

Re: V8 Supercar news
The closest Holden came to making a race engine was by sticking a Holden Motorsport sticker on the top of a Chev. And then they have the cheek to say Fords cheat by using after market gear that makes them faster than Holdens. Ha ha ha. anyway TI2 dont go talking to holden dealers, then you wont be put wrong. They have put many people wrong - look how many are driving Holdens - dont trust them..... :queen:

Re: V8 Supercar news
i believe they both run Ford blocks which are actually cast by Caterpillar in the US. the rest is up to the individual teams to bolt on.
the cars are so regulated and controlled, they are identical with exeption being the body shell and drivers.

Re: V8 Supercar news
They are totally different engines as below however some charachteristics of the 2 motors are governed by the technical rules so must be within that specification.
HSV Dealers team
Holden Motorsport 5.0 litre fuel injected V8. Holden Racing Team developed cylinder heads, fuel injection, intake and exhaust system. Category control MoTec engine management control system.
SBR
Stone Brothers Racing developed 5.0 litre V8 Ford with SVO cylinder iron block and aluminium heads. Category control MoTeC engine management control system.
Both engines are estimated 635 + bhp limited to maximum 7,500 RPM
From the V8 Supercar technical manual .
C 7.14 Engine Eligibility – VCS and DVS
7.14.1 All Holden Commodores competing in the VCS must be fitted with a HMS Engine at all VCS Meetings unless otherwise approved by TEGA/V8 Supercars.
7.14.2 All VY/VZ Holden Commodores or Driver’s competing in the DVS that have upgraded to an HMS Engine must use an HMS Engine at all subsequent Meetings unless otherwise approved by TEGA/V8 Supercars.
C 7.15 Cylinder Head and Block Eligibility
7.15.1 The Ford D3 Cylinder Head is only permitted for use in the VCS.
7.15.2 All BA/BF Ford Falcons or Drivers that have upgraded to the Ford D3 Cylinder Head must use engines fitted with Ford D3 Cylinder Heads at all subsequent Meetings unless otherwise approved by TEGA/V8 Supercars.
7.15.3 The Ford 6010 Boss 302 cylinder block is only permitted for use in the VCS unless otherwise approved by TEGA/V8 Supercars.
NOTE: Drivers and Cars will not be upgraded to the Ford D3 Cylinder Head until the Car has been presented at a Meeting with Ford D3 Cylinder Heads fitted.
Hope this helps
