I will say i would love to mould the 2 together - i love the new interior and all the gadgets that go with it but i think i prefer the older look - it has a more Aussie muscle car look whereas the FG looks more like a Euro cruiser ..... i didn't get to drive it in anger, but my ute loves the open road and i am picking this one will do the same .....

The new utes are rated at 315kws - my ute was a 290 but with cold air and exhaust its now 305kws - not enough to feel any difference .....

So...............If You could change Ute's, would You??

No - with the amount it would cost to change over i dont see that much value in it to do so.

Now thats what we were looking for, is it because of the lack of difference in the two models? or are there flaws in the new model that the older model just out performs?

My taking on a new model is it should be a step up from the older model, for example I have always been more of an old school enthusiast and thought that I would never move from the EF model, but when I was looking for a ute, it became more apparent after looking at both models that the advanced handling capabilities etc, etc, that you get with the newer BA out weighed the love of the older model and therefore gave me more "bang for my buck" so to speak.

I didn't drive the new one for long enough - i would have liked to have driven it on the open road and put it through its paces as my ute in those conditions is like a rocket sled on rails - but from what i did feel was that apart from the technoligical advances with all the gadgets inside i did not get the the feel of better drivability or handling - in saying that if i was upgrading from and XR8 ute it would be a huge step up. I can feel the difference in ride and handling between Bronwyns XR8 and my ute but thats what you pay for and thats why you get an FPV.

so if you had say an XR8, the extra that you would pay for the new Pursuit or FPV range would be worth the money?

Most definately ....... the difference in the FPV range compared with the Ford (non FPV) range is immense.

I can second that.........The FPV Pursuit I had was better than the BA XR6 and Turbo's Ute I owned too. Great
