Spoke to ford today and looks like taranaki will be at the launch. One taranaki club member has already purchased one so who knows how many members may want to update Razz

And I Taranaki member got offered a HSV Maloo R8 Murph Special at a good price today - when he told his wife he was advised that certain people would proably kill him if he bought it - wonder who that would be?

Still waiting on pricing for FG F6

    Evening all,
Well i've sat in a new FG GT and F6 at team hutchinson ford, they have two preproduction cars doing the rounds of the country at the mo.
bright orange GT with black stripes and a almost black metalic F6 both auto's.
salesman was telling me that the F6 drops to 3cylinders on upshifts to reduce torque transfer? anybody heard about that?
my impressions on GT are a grat looking bit of gear in the flesh. nose seems very short and with the bulge looks very agressive. When running you could hardly hear it but salesman said that they have a valve in exhaust that opens up over 3500rpm to give it a bit more noise (my reply was if i had one i'd hold it in 3rd or 4th gear just to listen to the engine Twisted Evil ) this car had coth seats 6spd auto and full bluetooth and i pod conection pack.

F6 had full leather and was also auto. the only bad thing i could find on each car was that stupid always breaking sunglasses holder in the roof is still there!

wasn't able to drive either as they had long list of people waiting for test drive. Crying Crying
they said the proper FPV Nz launch will be in Aug...... so FJ its up to you to give a full report after the huge crusaders win on the weekend please?

Well although I'm on the list mate, I had a little drive in an FG XR6 at Greyford today and if that is anything to go by then the FPV's will kick arse. Great

The thing I noticed first of all about driving the car is that there is no "Lag" when applying the go pedal and because I wasn't expecting it and hoping out of the Territory and straight into the FG, I had the back wheels spinning a little bit before traction control kicked in, On the road and cornering is awesome, it sticks to the road bloody awesome and the new front suspension is awesome, you don't feel any bumps and man it has some get up and go for an XR6. Anna took it for a drive and even she was impressed with the way it drove, she was doing 100kmh and when she floored it and looked at the speedo it was hitting a ton and didn't even feel like it, the interior is nice and so is the outside, I still have a problem with the look of the rear door but it will grow on Me...............So all in all, I was thinking of buying a BF because I couldn't see or feel any difference between the two but after driving the FG XR6 I will have to say that it is a shit load better than the BF XR6...................I'm off to see the Crusaders kick arse on Saturday and off to Team Hutch Ford too. It probably was a pre production car that is owned by Ford NZ and I think they leave Christchurch on Tuesday.
Got a call on Saturday about a drive but cant get down there from Blenheim in time as I have to much on to get down there, just S%^# house timing on my part really but will call in next Thursday when I am down that way for work.

Did you drive the F6 that they had as well?
The more I see and hear of the F6 the more I can see one parked in my garage in Jauary as that when I plan on buying the next Ford Surprised

The F6 wasn't there mate, it must have gone home with a sales rep or something, because when we left Team Hutch they were closing up for the day, but we also managed to have a good look around the show room which they had an FPV Territory, a Force8 a few new Mondeo's and a nice looking four door XR5 they also had a couple of FG XR6's and a GE6 (Or whatever they're called) plus when we were driving back to the mother in-laws place after the game we drove beside an FG XT and it even had the large TFT screen in it too which surprised Me. Great
