A striking new paint scheme for Stone Brothers Racing’s #4 Falcon has driver Alex Davison champing at the bit for a test drive in it.
The FG IRWIN Racing Falcon livery was unveiled this week, with the Ford-backed car featuring a deep blue backdrop with IRWIN Industrial Tools splashed across in a contrasting yellow.
Both IRWIN and Davison are new to Stone Brothers Racing (SBR) for 2009, and owners Jimmy and Ross Stone are excited about the start of a new era for the #4 Falcon.
“The team has worked really well to build the new FG Falcon and everyone at SBR is excited about the first test and the 2009 season in general,” Ross said.
"There is so much potential in not only the car, but also Alex and our partnership with IRWIN Industrial Tools.
"We are very proud in our team’s history and its successes; it would be very special to add to that with the IRWIN Racing Falcon in 2009."
The IRWIN Racing Falcon will make its race debut with Davison at the helm in Adelaide at the Clipsal 500 from March 19-22.
“The actual detail that has not only gone into the livery design, but also the car’s construction is second to none,” Davison said.
“This goes for the internal environment, with a lot of work going into making sure I am comfortable in the car as well.”
Davison said the rich blue paint with the bright IRWIN logos will really make the car stand out.
“I am ready to go; the Clipsal 500 can’t come quick enough!” he enthused.
IRWIN Industrial Tools Managing Director, Nick Pritchard, said everyone at the company “can be truly proud” of the livery.
“This is our third year in V8 Supercars and we have really evolved to a whole new level in 2009,” he said.
“Jimmy and Ross, along with the entire team have done a world class job with this car, even before turning a wheel.
“We have plenty of activities off-track to complement what Alex and Stone Brothers Racing are doing on the track; so 2009 is sure to be an exciting time for IRWIN Industrial Tools.”
The IRWIN Racing Ford will go through further technical checks and updates ahead of its first shakedown on March 9, before a full day of testing at Queensland Raceway on March 11.
